Overview

EHCPwise ("the App") is designed to help parents and carers in England navigate the statutory Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) assessment process. It logs correspondence and statutory deadlines relating to your local authority (LA), and advises you on next steps if the LA does not meet those deadlines. This policy explains how the App handles information.

The App logs process-related information only — such as dates of local authority correspondence, statutory deadlines, and the status of each stage of the EHCP process. The App does not collect, store, or process any information about your child, including no names, no details of special educational needs, and no health or care information relating to a child.

This means:

• The process and deadline information you enter into the App stays on your phone or tablet.
• We do not have access to this information. We cannot see it, retrieve it, or share it, because it is never sent to us.
• If you delete the App, this data is removed from your device along with it (unless your device has a separate backup system enabled — see "Device Backups" below).

What Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect:

• Any information about your child, including their name, needs, health, or education details
• Names or contact details of you or any other individual
• Location data
• Usage analytics or behavioural tracking data
• Advertising identifiers

Device Backups

Some devices automatically back up app data to a cloud service controlled by the device manufacturer (for example, Apple iCloud or Google Drive backups), depending on your device settings. This backup is managed by your device's operating system, not by EHCPwise, and is governed by that provider's own privacy policy. You can control this through your device settings.

App Store Information

When you download EHCPwise, Apple's App Store or Google Play may collect limited technical information (such as device type or download data) as part of operating their respective stores. This is governed by Apple's and Google's own privacy policies, not this one.

Payments

If you purchase premium features within the App, payment is processed directly by Apple's App Store or Google Play billing systems. We do not receive or store your payment card details.

Children's Privacy

EHCPwise is intended for use by parents, carers, and professionals — not by children. The App does not collect, store, or transmit any information about a child. It records only process-related information about local authority correspondence and statutory deadlines.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to how the App handles data (for example, if we introduce optional cloud sync or analytics in a future version), we will update this policy and clearly communicate the change within the App before any new data collection begins.
