Using EHCPwise

EHCPwise is provided by Voylian Limited. By using the app you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

What the app is for

EHCPwise explains the statutory EHC needs assessment process in England and keeps track of the dates that apply to your case. It is general information rather than legal advice, and it cannot tell you what the outcome of your case should be. If you need advice about your own situation, speak to a solicitor or to one of the free services the app points you to.

The app covers the initial needs assessment, up to the point a final plan is issued. It does not cover annual reviews or anything that happens afterwards, and it does not cover Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, which have different processes.

The dates it works out

The app calculates deadlines from the date you enter and from what you record as the assessment goes on. Those dates are only as good as the information you put in. Please check anything that matters against your own correspondence and with your local authority before you rely on it.

Reminders depend on your device and on your notification settings being switched on. Treat them as a help rather than a guarantee, and do not rely on them as your only record of a deadline.

Your information is yours to keep

Everything you enter stays on your device, which means you are the only person who can look after it. If you lose or replace your device without a backup, we cannot recover anything for you, because we never had it. The privacy policy above explains this in full.

Where our responsibility ends

We take care to keep the app accurate, but we cannot accept liability for a deadline that is missed, for a decision that goes against you or for any loss that follows from using the app. Meeting the legal timetable is your local authority’s duty, and carrying out the assessment is theirs to do. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Independence

EHCPwise is an independent app. It is not affiliated with any local authority, the Department for Education, or His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service.
